The Tasmanian government is proposing to amend the Sorell Urban Growth Boundary as part of the Southern Tasmania Regional Land Use Strategy (STRLUS). This could see up to an extra 3,499 dwellings built in Sorell while the number of existing dwellings is estimated to be 1,900 as of Feb 2025.
