Help Make Our Streets Safer for Kids
Speeding and hooning have been a big concern for our community, especially along Provence Drive, where kids and pedestrians often share the road because there aren’t footpaths. Council is looking into ways to make things safer, but you can take action too!
We’re inviting residents from Carlton, Dodges Ferry, Lewisham, and surrounding areas to join our “Safe Streets for Kids” initiative. By showing that we care about safe roads, we can encourage drivers to slow down and make our neighbourhoods safer for everyone.
How You Can Help
-
Paint a sign: Use the backs of coreflutes to create a colourful “Safe Streets for Kids” sign. Decorate it, get the kids involved, and include speed limits if you like (e.g., 50 km/h for Provence Dr).
-
Put it up: Display your sign on your fence to show your support.
See examples below

Sign up here and we’ll help you create and display your Safe Streets for Kids sign
Future plans: We’re also planning a street celebration for safe streets with a free BBQ and games for the kids (details coming soon).
