UPDATE April 2025
Residents have communicated to me their frustrations with the progress on issues with the dog park including the lack of irrigation, lighting and the quality of the surface. Council has informed me that they are investigating moving the Sorell Dog Park to a different location within Pembroke Park and therefore have not committed any major funding towards upgrading the existing dog park. They have informed me that infrastructure for the new dog park (such as automated irrigation, a well designed surface, a walking track around the edge, trees and more seating) is high on their list to investigate. I have written a letter to Council advocating for community input into the Sorell Dog park as soon as location is confirmed. You can find the letter HERE.
