The Sorell Council is proposing to build a footpath along Carlton Beach Road!
In the 2025/26 capital works budget, funding has been set aside for an asphalt path from East Street to Raprinner Street in Carlton (including the bends at Arnott st)
It is still very early days in the design process and I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities for community input and conversations with local residents. But this is such a positive step forward.
Carlton Beach Road is already well used by walkers, joggers and families, so a dedicated pedestrian path would be a real game changer for the area and for the Carlton Dodges Ferry loop track which currently uses the beach as part of the route.
